I have looked high and low for white corn tortillas in several super markets, and I can not find them. I finally came across white corn masa flour and decided to try making my own! These white corn tortillas are simple to make and wonderful to eat! They are warm off the griddle, and packed with all goodness and no preservatives. These white corn tortillas are the perfect pairing for my cheesy turkey enchilada bake. Check back tomorrow for that mouth watering Mexican meal!
These white corn tortillas are great for enchiladas, burritos, soft tacos or tamales! Cut them into strips and bake them in the oven to give a crunchy topping to your salad. Follow the easy step by step instructions for perfect homemade white corn tortillas! I use my {Presto Electric Griddle} to make these white corn tortillas.
White Corn Tortillas

2 cups
instant masa white corn flour -
1 1/4 cups +2 Tablespoons
warm water -
1/4 teaspoon
salt
Cooking Directions
- Preheat griddle to 450F
- Mix together all ingredients. If dough still remains dry add another Tablespoon warm water.
- Take a Tablespoon of dough, roll into a ball and place in between two pieces of wax or parchment paper.
- Roll out to about a six inch circle.
- Using a pastry cutter or knife round out the edges of the tortilla.
- Place on a griddle and allow to cook 30 seconds on each side.
- Makes about 12 tortillas.
