School is over for the day..time for the little love to get up from her nap and head to the bus stop with Mom! Before homework, t.v., tablet time, after- school activities, and dinner prep begin there’s these sweet 15 minutes where we pause for an afternoon snack and a chance to chat!
There are days where the kids help me prep a snack and days where they come home to the homey smell of fresh baked cookies! Below are our top 5 favorite after school snacks to enjoy!
Having these 15 minutes together is great because it allows us to share with each other what our day has been like, and once we get past who talks first for how long, no interrupting each other, and is it my turn yet…we share some really great things! I have come to cherish those 15 minutes where we enjoy a snack and spend some time together!
Top Five Snacks:
Ants On A Log
celery with peanut butter and raisins or dried blueberries
Lady Bugs On A Leaf
cut up apple or pear wedges with peanut butter and cranberries
Pretzel Sandwiches
two pretzels held together by peanut butter and jelly, or nutella
Marshmallow Treats
1 bag of marshmallows, 3 Tablespoons of butter, and 5 cups of any type of cereal! Melt butter and marshmallows, mix in cereal Spread in 9×13 baking dish, place in fridge, and use different cookie cutters to make fun shapes. Add sprinkles to the mix to jazz things up!
