Oreo Snowmen

I have started making all the delicious, sweet cookies for my holiday cookie platters! Each year I choose one recipe that I make more than any other! This year I have chosen to create different chocolate covered oreos, and I decided to make one into a snowman!

I found egg nog flavored chocolate melts and they taste just like a cup of egg nog! I am so excited to pair this sweet egg nog chocolate along with a golden oreo cookie to create the perfect oreo snowman!

I began melting the chocolate and when I took it out of the microwave something wasn’t quite right so I added a little more oil and stirred. Still not looking so good. So I added a little water, more chocolate and put it back in the microwave.

The chocolate turned out good enough so I began dipping the oreos in. When I placed the chocolate covered oreo down on the parchment paper the chocolate began to run.

Oh no, I have just created a melted oreo snowman!

Frosty is my all time favorite holiday cartoon so I embraced the melted oreo snowman look, plus I did not want this amazing egg nog chocolate to go to waste!

So hear it is the accidentally but oh so delicious melted oreo snowman!

This cookie could sure use it’s own personal flurry! 🙂

Ingredients
{print these snowmen}

  • 10-12 golden oreos
  • 1-10 ounce bag egg nog or white chocolate candy melts
  • 85 mini chocolate chips
  • 2 airheads or starbursts
  • 1 Tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon water

Cooking Directions

  1. In a microwave safe bowl put the chocolate and oil, microwave for 20 seconds, stir and repeat process until chocolate is melted.
  2. Add water and stir. Chocolate should still be thick but liquidity enough to spread. You can continue to add tiny bits of water until you reach this point.
  3. Using a Tablespoon dip an oreo in the chocolate, move it around until completely covered.
  4. Place chocolate covered oreo on a cookie sheet that is covered with parchment or wax paper.
  5. Add the mini chocolate chips for the eyes and mouth. Break off a small piece of air head or starburst and mold into a carrot nose.
  6. Repeat this with all the oreos.
  7. **Cook’s Notes** The ingredients make about 10-12 oreo snowmen. If you would like regular not melted snowmen omit the water!
  8. Enjoy these Oreo Snowmen!
