DIY Happy Birthday Banner

Spring is our birthday season with our kids being born in March, April and May! Every year we do different things from big, small, home, party place, family, and friends parties! This year we decided to have one big party with family and friends and then surprise the kids with a family get away!

How do you create a theme when you have a star wars, mine craft, sports and Lego lover with American girl dolls, frozen, and princesses?? I went in a completely different direction and did a bright colored garden theme! From flower pots filled with candies, a decorate your own cupcake bar, colorful balloons, streamers and tissue paper flowers we created a great theme for girls and boys alike!

I created this Happy Birthday banner to fill one of the walls as you enter our home! This Happy Birthday banner was fun and easy to create! I am so excited to share with you everything you need to make this Happy Birthday banner for your home!

After the party was over and the weeks passed by I could not part with this spring colored decoration! Sooo, I kept the ‘happy’, and made some more letters to create the banner Happy Spring! I have included those FREE printable letters too!

What You Need:
3 feet of string/thin rope
6 pieces of different patterned scrapbook paper
pencil
scissors
gluestick
Printable letters
tiny clothes pins
4 decorative thumb tacks

Directions:
*I created a triangle template and then used that template to cut out the other triangles. You can create the size that you would like.
I created a 5 in. across by 6 in. down triangle.  The size of this triangle left the circle letter hanging slightly over the edge.
*I printed out the letters. Taking a cup I traced a circle around the letter, and then cut it out!
*Using the glue stick I pasted the circle letter on the triangle.
*I cut the string and then using thumb tacks I hung it!
*Taking a tiny clothes pin I hung each triangle letter!
