Throwback Thursday-Candy Bar Cookies

I wrote this post almost a year ago and it is so much fun to look back and remember some of our favorite candy bar cookies as we look to create these and more this holiday season!

We are up to our elbows in all kinds of cookie dough! Each year we take out all our baking gear and the kids and I go to town creating awesome looking cookie platters! We take these to every party, get together, outing, and dinner we go to over any holiday week! We also serve up these delicious treats when friends and family come to call!

Each year we have done different cookies and through out the years we have come up with our own creations while also adding a twist to some of the classics!
Here’s what cookies we were craving and setting out to create for this holiday season….

Mounds Cookies
3 Musketeers Cookies
Cranberry White Chocolate Chip
M&M Cookies
Rolo Cookies
Molasses Cookies

Check out each recipe below and enjoy creating these sweet bits of yumminess with your family!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks)
butter, softened-I know that the butter is the perfect softness when I can leave a finger indentation in it.
  • 1/2 cup
    granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup
    light brown sugar
  • 1
    egg,beaten
  • 1 teaspoon
    vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon
    baking soda
  • 2 1/4 cup
    all purpose flour

Cooking Directions

  1. Preheat Oven to 350F

  2. Cream together the butter and sugars. You can use a mixer or do it by hand whichever you find to work best. Since I have a master baker 😉 we use a spatula!

  3. Add the egg and vanilla and mix together

  4. Add the salt and baking soda and mix together

  5. Add the flour little by little and mix

  6. until combined.

  7. Time for the add-ins!

  8. We roll the cookie dough at onto cookie sheets using a small cookie scoop but a tablespoon,or rolling dough with your hands works great also! Each recipe makes about 24 cookies! We bake all the cookies at 350 F for about 12-15 minutes. Our family enjoys chewy cookies, keep them in a bit longer if you prefer crispy cookies!

  9. Enjoy 🙂
