1 cup of diced carrots
1 cup of diced celery
1 cup of diced onion
2 cloves of minced garlic
1 tablespoon canola oil
2 quarts (8 cups) of chicken stock or broth
1/2 cup barley
3 diced potatoes
3 cups of chicken(or turkey) Cooked
Spices to season…I use whatever I have on hand which is usually thyme, Italian spices,fresh ground pepper,bay leaf, fresh ground pepper,salt to taste.
3 tablespoons of butter
3 tablespoons of flour
Saute carrots,celery,onion and garlic in oil in a large pot.
Italian Herb Bread
1 cup + 2 tablespoons of room temp water
1 1/2 Tablespoons oil
3 Tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup milk or 2 Tablespoons dry milk
3 1/4 cup bread flour
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
3 Tablespoons of dry Italian seasoning
Put ingredients in bread machine in order listed. Sometimes I bake the bread in the machine and other times I put it on dough cycle..remove when done and place dough in a greased loaf pan, cover with saran wrap and allow dough to rise until double in size and bake for 30 mins at 350° Enjoy 🙂
