After a weekend of barbecue eating I am ready to get back on the health food wagon! This blackberry honeydew sorbet is sweet, refreshing, and satisfying! It’s the perfect cold treat for a hot summer day and is a great way to get back into the swing of things!
This blackberry honeydew sorbet is another recipe in my bursting with berries series and one that is a keeper!
I have been eyeing up a {ice cream maker} and finally bought one this summer! We have been busy creating different ice cream, sorbet, and gelato! Such great summer fun!
Blackberry Honeydew Sorbet
Ingredients
- 1 ice cream maker or ice pop containers
- ½ cup blackberries
- ½ honeydew melon,cubed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1½ cups water
- ½ lemon
Instructions
- Using a blender, blend together blackberries and cubed honeydew melon, set aside
- In a pot add the water and sugar and bring to a soft boil to make a simple syrup, add to the fruit juice
- Zest the rind of the lemon and add in
- Squeeze the juice of the lemon into the fruit mix and stir together
- Add to ice cream maker
- Follow ice cream maker instructions for making a sorbet
- **If you do not have an ice cream maker, you can place the fruit juice into a ice pop container and freeze to make ice pops!**
