Free Nature Hunt Scavenger Hunt Printable to add some fun to a summer day!
Summer is in full swing here and the lazy, hazy days have kicked in. We have already enjoyed vacation, time with friends, barbecues, firepit nights, and lots of smores! Now is the time when a little boredom kicks in and we begin to look for things to do besides days at the pool and lake!
With another vacation around the corner and tons of money already spent on ice cream cones, I look to create fun, memorable and inexpensive activities for my kids and their friends!
Before the heat of the day kicks in we head outside to ride bikes, shoot hoops, do chalk drawings and toss water balloons at each other! Thinking about changing it up today, I created this Nature Scavenger Hunt!
I thought of things that are easily found in nature and some others that require time to search for! What a great way to spend a late summer’s morning with each other and even some friends!
For the kids {and parents} with a competitive nature, I added a point system to see who can find the most things in nature in the quickest time. They have to add up their points {I am always looking for ways to throw some math their way} to see who has the highest number!
The kids hit the ground running with papers and markers in hand and on a mission to find the nature things on the list! The best part is everyone was a winner and enjoyed the prize of you guessed it..ice cream! Except this time it was homemade and we had all the toppings on hand!
After running around for hours the kids requested to do this nature scavenger hunt again tomorrow! Count me in!
