We are getting ready to host our first barbecue this weekend, and we are excited!! Wipe down the lawn chairs, uncover the fire pit, and bring on good food! We live for making great memories with family and friends at a great barbecue.
We grill all types of great meats and vegetables. We create delicious appetizers, and great side dishes to compliment the delicious grilled food.
With Memorial Day being next week we have to get ready for our barbecue.
Here are the top 5 things we do to prepare for a great time :
Decorate in red, white, and blue: This year we decided to get a little festive with these red , white and blue decorations. We also use red, white and blue cups, napkins, plates and silverware to complete the patriotic party look.
Make a detailed shopping list: We write down everything that we need to get from dips to dessert. Our Walmart in Hacettstown, NJ has everything we need for the barbecue making it a one stop shop!! {Yay}
Keep the menu simple: We want to enjoy spending time with our family and friends and not get stuck in the kitchen the whole time. We create a simple and delicious menu that comes together easily. One of our favorite foods to serve is French fries. We serve several types and use our printable patriotic paper cones to hold them!
Nothing goes better than fries and dip! While we were shopping at Walmart we are looking for creative dips to compliment the fries. While in the deli came we came across Chobani Mezé™ Dips. They are the perfect pairing to our fries!
Prepare ahead of time: We decorate, bake, and prepare some of the side dishes ahead of time. This makes things less frazzled the day of the barbecue. Our favorite make ahead dishes are fruit salad, pasta salad, cookies, cupcakes and brownies!
Give a little gift: We love sending our family and friends home with leftovers to enjoy the next day! In addition to amazing leftovers, we like to give a little gift to remember the barbecue by. Gifts we have given in the past have been candles with a printable sticker, and a stack of flag cookies we had made!
What happens when the phone rings or a text comes in and an impromptu barbecue happens? We have a plan for that too because it happens to us quite often this time of year! We always have fries, chips, dip, and burgers with all the fixings on hand! We are always ready to go for a good time!
The perfect dip to have on hand is the Chobani Mezé Dip that we found in the deli department of Walmart! These creamy, globally inspired dips come in 4 flavors!
Roasted Red Pepper ,Three Pepper Salsa, Smoked Onion Parmesan, and Chili Lime. Four amazing dip choices all in a 10-ounce container! I can’t decide which one I enjoy more! There is the sweet and spicy mix of the Roasted Red Pepper, a blend of chili peppers with herbs in the Three Pepper Salsa, the combination of onion and Parmesan cheese in the Smoked Onion Parmesan, or the lime ranch duo in the Chili Lime!
These dips are just right for our french fry bar and they also go great with chips, vegetables, and anything else you can dip! We are big fans of Chobani and they have really gone the extra mile with these newly crafted dips that combine Chobani Greek Yogurt and real vegetables and are made with only natural and non-GMO ingredients!
These Paper Cone Printables come in 3 different patriotic styles! Watch the video for a step by step tutorial on how to make these Patriotic Paper Cones! These paper cones are great for french fries, chips, or candy! I use a light weight card stock to create these paper cones, and regular paper works great too!

How did this amazing, creamy dip get its name? The word MEZE is Turkish {pronounced “meh-zay”} and means flavor, taste or snack. A small plate of savory and delicious food which often uses strained yogurt as a base, served before or part of a great social gathering!*
