I love to give gifts and I have passed that love onto my kids! I have found that it’s the small things like a plate of homemade cookies, a candle with a cute saying, or a coffee mug filled with candy and a gift card that make the biggest differences!
Our family is surrounded by some pretty amazing people! Teachers, coaches, family, friends and other people that we do life with fill our hearts as they pour into our family.
There is no better way to show we care than to tell them and on those special occasions to show them! There are also people in our everyday lives that do jobs that may go unnoticed or that we take for granted!
We are teaching our kids to take notice of those people and we encourage them to show their appreciation.
Our mailman, school secretaries, teaching assistants, lunch aides, and team assistants are just some of those people.
Sometimes a simple thank you and a hug is enough. Sometimes you just want to go the extra mile.
This ‘thankful for you candle’ is one way we are going the extra mile this Thanksgiving. To create these candles it costs next to nothing and the impact it will make will be long lasting!
I found these cute mason jar candles at the grocery store of all places for $1!I created the printable to paste on top, and I dug around for some ribbon to jazz it up a bit! For $1 we are putting a smile on someone’s face, and encouraging our kids to show others in a tangible way that they are thankful for them.
CREATE:
6-3 ounce candle jars
Printable Thankful 4 You Labels
Gluestick
Ribbon/raffia
DIRECTIONS:
Print and cut out the labels
Stick on the top of the candle using gluestick
Tie with ribbon or raffia
Give away! 🙂
{Set of Six “Thankful 4 You” Labels}
It starts with the small, insignificant things like giving candles and our hope is that it begins to grow in our kids something much greater like the giving of their time and talents in serving others.
